Test heating element with a multimeter. If there is voltage on one wire but no voltage on the second wire, it is likely that the component has been burned, causing the voltage to be interrupted.
- Disconnect the unit from all power sources (120 VAC and 12 VDC).
- Disconnect the heating element wiring from the lower control module.
- Remove the defective heating element from the pocket within the flue stack.
- Perform these steps in reverse with a new heating element to complete the replacement.
